Much of Teal Farm's cultivation of annuals will have a dual purpose: one, to find the best open-pollinated, nutrient-dense varieties that thrive in our climate, and two, to maintain a seed bank of the best varieties that may be in danger of extinction. We think a regional farm system should be able to reproduce itself with local inputs, and our goal is to not only find the best tasting open-pollinated varieties, but to conserve their vast wealth of information in our seed library.
